In recent years, the annual production of used tires in China has increased by 8%-10%. According to statistics, in 2010, China’s waste tire production amounted to approximately 250 million, and the recycling rate was only around 50%, which was less than 30% of the Western developed countries, resulting in huge waste of resources. At the same time, in some parts of our country, waste tires are still burned, landfilled, and other original treatment methods, or even discarded at will, causing “black pollutionâ€. Waste tires are poisonous and harmful solid wastes. They have strong resistance to heat and degradation, and will not degrade in the ground for 100 years.
The conflict between supply and demand of rubber is outstanding, and recycling of used tires should be strengthened.
Due to the impact of climate conditions, only a small amount of rubber trees can be planted in Hainan and Yunnan in China, and the annual output of natural rubber is only about 600,000 tons. The potential for increasing output in the future is not great. According to Jiang Zhiyun, former president of the China Tire Renovation and Recycling Association, China consumes more than 7 million tons of rubber every year, more than 70% of natural rubber and more than 40% of synthetic rubber need to be imported. Since 2004, China's natural rubber self-sufficiency rate has been lower than the country's one-third strategic security warning line, which has dropped to less than 25% at this stage.
“Our country has a rubber gap of up to millions of tons each year. At the same time, we export more than 300 million tires and a large amount of rubber-containing products to foreign countries. The contradiction between supply and demand is extremely prominent.†said Wu Yinghong, Deputy Secretary General of the Rehabilitation Rubber Branch of the China Tire Renovation and Recycling Association. Enhance the recycling of used tires, and increase the support for related industries without delay. At present, there are mainly three ways to recycle waste tires in China: First, they are directly crushed to make rubber powder, which can be used to lay roads, which can save a lot of asphalt; secondly, they are used to produce reclaimed rubber for the production of hoses, pads, etc. It can also be added to new tires in a certain proportion, which can save a large amount of natural rubber and synthetic rubber; thirdly, through pyrolysis, it can decompose important chemical raw materials such as heavy oil and carbon black. Recycling old tires can be used to retread tires. There are currently hundreds of tire retreading companies in China, but the refurbishment rate is only about 3%, which is not only far below the renovation rate of about 14% in the United States, the world's largest tire refurbishment country, but also lower than the world average 6% renovation rate.
Contradictions between supply and demand cause rubber prices to rise, and many waste tire processing companies do not make much money
An analyst from China International Futures Co., Ltd. said that the gap between the annual demand for scrap tires in China is nearly 3 million tons, and the contradiction between supply and demand is outstanding. At the same time, due to the impact of the international market, rubber prices have been steadily increasing. Natural rubber per ton rose from 25,000 yuan in the previous year to about 30,000 yuan in 2012, and the price of scrap tires also rose accordingly. “One ton of waste tires was sold for more than 1,000 yuan in the previous year, and it rose to 1,800 yuan in 2011 and rose to 2,200 yuan in 2012.†A responsible person for a waste tire processing company in Fangshan District, Beijing, said that the company mainly recycles used tires for public transportation systems. First processed into reclaimed rubber, then made into tire pads. Now that not only the raw materials have soared, but also this kind of buying and selling has become more frequent. A monthly salary of a few thousand yuan is also very difficult to hire workers, and they can’t do it, and they have to switch to a new tire business. However, the waste tire business can be traded in cash, and the new tire business is more standardized and it is necessary to develop the tax on the ticket and not make any money. "The auto repair point sells us a scrap tire for tens of yuan, and the maintenance tires don't give money to the used tires from the owner." A waste tire dealer in Zhangzhou City, Hebei Province, said, "We put waste tires. The profits for the wholesale processing enterprises are not high, and the freight is expensive. In July and August, each tire can not earn ten yuan."
Known as China's Northern Waste Tire Treatment Center, Luolu Town, Yutian County, Hebei Province, China, brings together a large number of waste tires from Beijing, Inner Mongolia, Northeast China, and Xinjiang, and many rubber powder processing companies. A plastic powder processing business owner told reporters that in the past few years the country built a large number of expressways, used a lot of rubber powder, but because of some quality problems with the rubber powder, the road is easy to blistering, damage, and people's purchases drastically reduced, 2012 It is very difficult to buy and sell rubber powder. Small businesses that use waste tires to refine oil are thriving. “The business in recent years has been very good. The diesel produced can fuel small farm machinery and other equipment and it is very popular among farmers.†said a business owner of a “soil refining†company in a certain place in Shandong. It is understood that truck tires contain more natural rubber, suitable for making rubber powder; family car tires contain more synthetic rubber, refining the oil quality is better. However, oil refinery produces a lot of smoke and unpleasant odors, and environmental pollution makes the surrounding residents miserable.
The development of the industry is extensive and most of the small businesses should actively help the industry to remove the “black hatâ€
At present, China has formed a recycling channel for “automobile maintenance points—distributors—waste tire processing companiesâ€, and some public transportation departments have “fixed links†with waste tire processing companies. There are about 1,500 enterprises that recycle waste tires nationwide, and more than 200,000 employees are employed. There are only 200 companies with a production scale of over 5,000 tons. Most of them are small enterprises and small workshops. "Because of the extensive development of the industry and backward technology, not only low profitability, poor anti-risk ability, but also caused some pollution to the environment." Wang Yangzu, director of the Working Committee of Imported Renewable Resources of the China Material Recycling Association, said that except for a small number of enterprises using waste tires to refine oil In addition to major pollution, the production of rubber powder, reclaimed rubber, retreaded tires, etc. will only cause very slight pollution. In fact, the high-pollution refining sector accounts for only a very small proportion, and the state can ban production, which can change people's opinions.
"The secondary pollution problem caused by the disposal of waste tires can be completely solved by upgrading the technology, innovating the technology, and installing environmental protection facilities." Wang Yangzu said that the recycling of waste tires can reduce pollution by 70% compared with the production of synthetic rubber. 80% of energy is very good. “In terms of recycling old tires, most of our tires are used only once, wasting a lot of resources.†Wang Yangzu said that the retreading of tires according to the traditional method can achieve a service life of about 60% of the new tires; according to “pre-vulcanizationâ€, etc. The new method of retreading tires has a lifespan that exceeds that of new tires. “It is puzzling that although the waste tire recycling industry is a resource recycling industry, it cannot enjoy fiscal and tax incentives and is also wearing a 'black hat' in a highly polluting industry.†An industry source said that the industry There are some problems that really need to be regulated and governed, but you can't throw your children out with dirty water because you're not eating.
