Undertaken by the Wuhan Institute of Technology "973" pre-research projects "in basic research and flotation process mineralogy of low grade phosphorus ore" launched last week. The project will solve the problem of flotation of low-grade colloidal phosphate rock, completely get rid of the impact of low temperature on phosphate mining, and open up a new way for the sustainable development of phosphate rock industry.
According to Prof. Chi Youan, assistant to the school's principal and director of the Science and Technology Department, China's phosphate rock resources are low in grade, and there are many colloidal phosphate mines. The recycling is difficult and the waste is remarkable after refining. In addition, the phosphate ore dressing in Hubei must be carried out at temperatures above 30 °C, and the recovery rate is very low when the temperature is below 10 °C. In the phosphorus-rich area of ​​Hubei, the time is only 10 months or so in a year or so, and the rest of the four months have to be discontinued. If artificially heated, it will increase energy consumption. After repeated research and testing, they discovered a new type of agent and beneficiation process, which is expected to be normalized at a temperature of around 0 °C. This will help reduce the depletion losses of phosphate rock resources mining, increase the utilization rate of phosphate rock, and maintain the continued exploitation of phosphorus resources. Professor Chi Youan told reporters that this new type of pharmaceutical and mineral processing technology is expected to increase the recovery rate of low-grade phosphate rock from about 60% to 85%, which will reduce the cost of mineral processing by about 20%. The use of low-grade phosphate rock will have a significant role in promoting.
It is reported that Chi'an's R&D team will concentrate on three years to understand the grain size, occurrence state and sorting performance of phosphorus minerals in the ore, formulate new pharmaceutical systems and beneficiation processes, and explore low-grade phosphate rock. Flotation and green efficient use to find new theoretical basis and technical support.
