This set of potato production machinery has been applied in Yunnan Chengxing Agricultural Development Co., Ltd., and a demonstration base for potato operation such as potato ditching, sowing, fertilizing, picking, harvesting, and watering has been established at Zhanyi Dapo Tuqiao Village Committee. The establishment of a demonstration model of potato mechanization production test 2000 acres. The level of potato mechanization production is the most advanced level of potato production in our province and even the southwestern region. It truly serves as a pilot demonstration and leading role, which promotes the mechanization of potato production and enlarges and strengthens the potato industry.

Yunnan Chengxing Agricultural Development Co., Ltd. invested RMB 3 million in October 2007 to build a demonstration base of potato plantation covering an area of ​​2,000 acres in Dapo Township, Zhanyi County. The base is located at 103.71 degrees east longitude, 25.7 degrees north latitude and about 25 kilometers away from Zhanyi county. It belongs to the gentle slope of the hill and has an average elevation of 2090-2100 meters. The annual average temperature is 14 degrees. The soil in the area is red sandy soil, belongs to slightly acidic soil, fresh air, and abundant water sources. It is an ideal environment for the development of high quality potato seed potatoes.

In view of the geographical spread of potato planting in Yunnan, the small scale of planting by farmers, the uneven quality of commodity seed potatoes, and difficulties in centralized transportation, the company has followed a high starting point, intensification, scale, and mechanization under the guidance of provincial and municipal agricultural and agricultural extension departments. The development ideas of the standardization, in the demonstration construction of the base potato planting industry, focused on taking innovative roads from the beginning, invested a lot of funds, improved the irrigation system of the entire base, and realized automatic irrigation of the planting area; at the same time, from Beijing and Shandong Introduced a complete set of specialized mechanized equipment for potato cultivation, ranging from high horsepower tractors, rotary cultivators, seeders, sprayers, mobile sprinklers, ridge cultivators, cultivators, and automatic harvesters. It became the first fully scaled potato planting base in the province. The realization of mechanization will enable the base to provide demonstration and test functions for intensive, large-scale, mechanized and standardized production and development modes for the introduction and promotion of new potato varieties in the province, and will accelerate the development of high-quality potato planting in the province.

The actual planting of potatoes showed that potato production has the advantage of full mechanization. In the best period of planting in the spring, the base only used 5-6 employees, and a potato planter and a potato harvester completed 2000 acres. Ditching, sowing, fertilizing, picking, and harvesting operations; two sets of wells and three sets of irrigation machines completed the water supply, watering, fertilizing operations, which is several dozen times that of ordinary artificial planting, fully demonstrating the power of potato production mechanization.
