In recent years, with the acceleration of industrialization in China, VOC emissions have been stubbornly high. VOCs gradually enter the public view as a new type of atmospheric pollutants. However, as China's VOCs monitoring and management program is not yet complete, monitoring and management of VOCs is always a difficult and difficult point.
VOCs are volatile organic compounds, and they are the sum of a group of substances. They are the general term for all organic compounds that are released into the air in the form of gaseous molecules. VOCs are important precursors of ozone and PM2.5, and they are one of the major contributors to compound air pollution in China's current region.
With the increasingly prominent environmental protection issues in recent years, people's awareness of the harmfulness of VOCs to the environment and human health has been deepened. The requirements for VOCs monitoring and control in China have gradually become legalized and standardized, and various governance policies, regulations, and programs have been successively introduced.
To comprehensively strengthen the monitoring and governance of VOCs and improve air quality. China has successively promulgated the "13th Five-Year Plan for the Prevention and Control of Volatile Organic Compounds Pollution", the "Action Plan for Reduction of Volatile Organic Compounds in Key Industries", and the "13th Five-Year Plan" Integrated Work Program for Energy Saving and Emission Reduction; the first "Atmospheric VOCs" have been issued. On-line monitoring system assessment work guide and other documents; Shanghai, Tianjin, Shenzhen and other cities have explicitly requested on-line monitoring of VOCs.
With the improvement of various governance policies, technology and equipment have become important hardware support. In order to support the smooth development of VOCs governance, a variety of related equipment, equipment and technical solutions have also been continuously launched to help the "Blue Sky Battle."
On March 16, the first large-scale online VOCs monitor in Wenling City Environmental Protection Bureau of Zhejiang Province passed the acceptance inspection. Marking Wenling air pollution prevention and control has been at the forefront of Zhejiang Province, science and technology support capabilities to a new level.
The large-scale on-line VOCs monitor can continuously monitor the types and concentration of VOCs in the ambient air for 24 hours without interruption, and monitor up to 200 species such as ethylene, acetylene, ethane, vinyl chloride, and chloroform. The monitoring of VOCs plays a crucial role in understanding the source of VOCs in Wenling, supporting O3 control strategies and reducing the PM2.5 concentration.
Zhejiang Wenling Environmental Protection Bureau is the third county-level unit to conduct on-line monitoring of VOCs in the Zhejiang Environmental Monitoring System.

Bisphenol S is a chromogenic agent in thermal paper. The European Commission claims that 30% of thermal paper goes into the recycling stream. So many paper products, such as kitchen paper, food cartons (pizza cartons, instant noodles cups, popcorn cones, etc.) are made from recycled paper. Therefore, the recycling of thermal paper makes BPS enter the paper recycling system and contaminate the food contact paper products.
