Twilight Brake announced US$82 million expansion of US plant

January 2013, Akebono Brake Company announced that it will invest $ 82 million expansion of its US-Tennessee Clarksville (Clarksville) factory and hiring local 94 employees.

The expansion project will be divided into two phases, which will be completed in 2013 and the second quarter of 2014. In the first phase, an on-site warehouse will be built, a dedicated furnace will be installed, and new equipment and machinery will be added in the second phase. The factory will be able to handle calipers, plating and assembly.

The investment was the second expansion project of Shuguang Brake at its Clarksville plant, which was put into operation as early as 1989. It was previously part of the German Bosch Group and was later sold to Shuguang Brake Company in 2009.
