According to the "Protocol on China's Accession to the World Trade Organization," China will abolish import quotas and license management for automobiles and key parts from 2005. The Ministry of Commerce's Quota and Licensing Affairs Bureau issued a notice a few days ago, informing us that in order to fulfill its commitment to join the WTO, since January 1, 2005, China has ceased to implement import quotas and license management on automobiles and their key parts.
