Scania will supply engines for aircraft dispatch tractors

In December 2012, Scania has signed an agreement with the French TLD Group, a professional manufacturer of ground equipment at the International Airport, to deliver 3,000 engines that meet the Tier 4i emission standards, and to provide its own TaxiBot aircraft with push/drag scheduling tractors . power.

The TaxiBot aircraft towing/dragging tractor was designed and developed by Israel Aviation Industries (IAI) and produced by the TLD Group. The Scania industrial engine that meets the Tier 4i emission standard stands out with its compact structure and modular design, providing high-quality, clean power for the TaxiBot tractor.

Corresponding to Airbus A320 and A380 aircraft, the TaxiBot tractors are available in both narrow and wide versions, both driven by Scania industrial engines. The TaxiBotNarrowBody will be powered by two nine-liter Scania engines, each with a power output of 294 kilowatts. The wide-seat (TaxiBotWideBody) will be fitted with two 16-liter Scania V8 engines, each with a high output power. 566 kilowatts. Both Scania engines fitted on the TaxiBot are Tier4i compliant.

The TaxiBot aircraft push/drag scheduling tractor tractor will be used to move the aircraft between the gate and the airport runway. This will allow the aircraft to start the engine just before take-off, which will help save fuel and greatly reduce greenhouse gas emissions and noise pollution.

TaxiBot tractors have now been put into trial operation on the Lufthansa Boeing 747 and French Airbus aircraft. Currently, the TaxiBotNarrowBody is undergoing a series of comprehensive tests on the Airbus A320 at the Châteauroux Airport in France.
