Russia's machinery and equipment production in May fell sharply from the same period last year

According to the statistics released by the Russian National Bureau of Statistics on June 19, the production of Russian machinery and equipment in May 2009 fell by 46.9% from the same period in 2008. Among the mechanical equipment products with the largest drop, the road construction loader dropped by 87.5%, the vehicle crane dropped by 86.5%, the construction loader dropped by 76.4%, and the woodworking machine tool dropped by 70.7%.
