Oxygen has large ethylene cold box R & D capabilities

At present, the large-scale ethylene plant has become a global development trend, and is advancing from 800,000 to 900,000 tons/year to 1 million tons/year. In order to meet the needs of large-scale ethylene plants, Hangzhou Oxygen Co., Ltd. has combined basic technologies of plate-fin heat exchangers and thermal design research of ethylene cold boxes in recent years to optimize and improve existing computer design and calculation software systems. Developed new, high-efficiency, high-strength fins for large-scale plate-fin heat exchangers, combined with the actual development of an ultra-large plate-fin heat exchanger brazing plant, developed advanced plate-fin heat exchanger performance The detection method and equipment are well adapted to the high reliability requirements of the ethylene cold box. During the “Eleventh Five-Year Plan” period, Hangzhou Oxygen started the research and development of a million-ton-class large-scale ethylene cold box in connection with the relocation of the company. Currently, it has the R&D capabilities and is truly responsible for the localization of large-scale ethylene cold boxes.
In March of this year, the 800,000-ton/year ethylene cold box opener of Fujian 12 million tons/year oil refining and 800,000 tons/year ethylene refining and chemical integration project was held in Hangzhou. The ethylene cold box equipment undertaken by Hangyang oxygen was designed to use the American Lums company binary refrigerant refrigeration process technology, the maximum design pressure reached 5.4MPa, the initial appearance size is 6250mm × 4000mm × 30000mm, the total weight of about 280 tons, can meet the 14 fluid simultaneous heat exchange. In May, Hangzhou Oxygen and Sinopec Tianjin Branch officially signed a one million-ton ethylene commercial contract for large-scale cold boxes, which is planned for delivery in August 2008.
According to Zhu Xiyuan, chief engineer of Hangyang Oxygen, the world’s largest set of ethylene cold box and high pressure plate-fin heat exchanger is only American CHART company, French Norton company, Japan’s Sumitomo and Kobelco company, German Linde company and China Hangzhou Oxygen can be made. Before Hangyango succeeded in breaking through the localization of large-scale ethylene cold boxes in the past 30 years, such products in the domestic market were all dependent on imports.
In December 2003, the research and development project of the Hangzhou-Oxygen large-scale ethylene plant complete cold-box domestication project passed expert appraisals from Sinopec, China National Machinery Industry Federation, Yanshan Petrochemical, Qilu Petrochemical, Jinshan Petrochemical, Maoming Petrochemical, Daqing Petrochemical, and Zhejiang University. It indicates that China has mastered the key technology of large-scale ethylene cold box design and manufacture, and has realized the localization of ethylene cold box. It has independent intellectual property rights and its main technical indicators have reached the advanced level of contemporary international similar products, with significant economic and social benefits. At present, Hangzhou Oxygen cold box in the domestic market share has reached 50%, successfully provided Yanshan Petrochemical, Yangzi Petrochemical, Shanghai Petrochemical, Qilu Petrochemical, Maoming Petrochemical and other companies provided 10 sets of ethylene cold box. Almost all the cold box projects of the domestic ethylene second-round transformation have not only saved the country a lot of foreign exchange, but also made great contributions to the development of the domestic petrochemical industry. In December 2005, Hangzhou Oxygen successfully completed the 640,000 t/y ethylene cold box designed and manufactured by Maoming Petrochemical's 1 million tonne/year ethylene second-round transformation project. Maoming Petrochemical's lOOt/y ethylene modification and expansion project cold box is the largest ethylene cold box designed and manufactured by Hangyang Oxygen since the independent research and development of ethylene cold box. The cold box design adopts Lums technology from the United States. The maximum design pressure is 3.96MPa and the weight is about 410 tons. It is the world's largest ethylene cold box using the three-way refrigeration process.
Hangzhou Oxygen is also a major domestic air separation equipment supplier. At present, Hangyang is working hard to speed up the progress of the relocation and expansion project. It will use the relocation and expansion as an opportunity to build a new Hangyang oxygen and plan to complete the relocation by the end of next year. In 2010, it will form 720,000 cubic meters/hour oxygen capacity large and medium-sized air separation. Equipment manufacturing capacity, in which the largest single machine reaches 80,000 cubic meters/hour.
