Mainland has sales of US$40.6 billion in 2011

Continental Group recently announced its 2011 financial report, which showed that its sales in 2011 reached a record high, exceeding 30.5 billion euros (about 40.6 billion US dollars), an increase of 17% year-on-year.

In 2011, the mainland's EBIT was 2.6 billion euros (about 3.5 billion U.S. dollars), accounting for 8.5% of sales; adjusted EBIT was 3 billion euros, accounting for 10.1% of sales.

Mainland's diluted profit per share in 2011 was 6.21 euros ($8.26); net debt fell below 6.8 billion euros (about $9 billion). As of the end of 2011, the number of employees of the Continental Group has increased to 164,000.

For 2012, Continental expects sales to increase by more than 5% year-on-year to 32 billion euros (about 42.6 billion U.S. dollars) and net debt to continue to fall below 6.5 billion euros (about 8.65 billion U.S. dollars).
