Bauma China 2016, Liebherr exhibited the latest generation of high pressure common rail fuel injection system 11.2, with the latest engine control unit. This fuel injection system was independently developed and produced by Liebherr. The whole system design not only meets the emission requirements of non-road vehicles, but also meets the road vehicle Euro V and Euro VI standards.
In Bauma China
In 2016, Liebherr demonstrated the second generation of high-pressure common rail fuel injection system 11.2, which is newly installed in the form of fuel injector top oil. Previous Liebherr 11.2 systems only had a form of lateral oil intake (through pressure pipe joints). The new top inlet version, the pressure fitting is located on the top of the injector, thus making the rail and pressure line layout more flexible. At the same time, an enlarged version of the nozzle has been developed, which has a diameter increased from 7mm to 9mm, resulting in a maximum flow rate of 2,200.
ML / 30 seconds.
With the improvement of the common rail system 11.2, Liebherr provides customers with more flexibility and convenience in system integration. Develop system solutions based on specific requirements. Depending on the engine structure and available installation space, choose the side oil inlet form or the top inlet oil form. Mass production is scheduled to open in the second half of 2016. The system is currently undergoing final field trials.
Like the first generation 11.2 system, the new generation of fuel injection systems range in power from 120 to 800 kW, and in individual cases up to 1000 kW. Twin-cylinder in-line pump with oil-lubricated crankshaft at 2200
300 liters of fuel per hour is available at bar pressure. Injector with a maximum fuel injection capacity of 300 under full load conditions
Mg, and achieve reliable multiple injections. Depending on the performance requirements of the engine, nozzle flow is widely available from 600-2200 ml / 30 seconds. This flow range is suitable for high performance engines.
The unique advantages of Liebherr's further development of the common rail system
The second generation 11.2 common rail system retains and enhances the advantages of the first generation. Liebherr injectors remain static-free. Thanks to this, the fuel returned to the tank is quite small and the heat generated is very small. As a result, the requirements for the cooling system are extremely low. The amount of leakage of the injector opening/closing is only 40 at full load.
ML/min. The three-way servo valve closes quickly and opens the nozzle needle independently with adjustable speed. This design ensures optimum combustion and maintains low fuel consumption.
In order to avoid flow loss, the injector is connected to the high pressure line without a damper hole. Additional oil storage (mini-track) in the injector minimizes pressure loss at the inlet during injection. Combined with these characteristics, unfavorable pressure fluctuations can be effectively eliminated.
The improved high pressure pump is also oil lubricated instead of fuel lubricated. This makes the life of the pump unaffected by the quality of the fuel. Thanks to the optimized lubrication, the installation is very robust and high system pressures can be achieved at low speeds. The booster pump is designed with an inner rotor (G-rotor). Strong oil absorption, especially during the opening phase. The eccentric drive of the main pump ensures smooth operation of the system.
New electronic control unit ECU3
ECU 3 is an engine control unit that has been completely improved for the new 11.2 system. As an all-in-one system, this ECU not only covers the control functions of all engines and common rail systems, but also includes exhaust aftertreatment systems. Emission standards meet both non-road vehicles Euro IV and Tier
4 final, road vehicles Euro V and ISO Euro VI. In addition to the ECE R10 standard, the Liebherr control unit complies with other relevant industry standards such as ISO 26262 and ISO 13849.
- Control system related safety components.
The TECU3 control unit can be flexibly programmed to interface with customer input and output interfaces and supports international common communication protocols such as J1939, XCP and UDS. Air cooling is sufficient for most applications due to the optimized cooling concept. For extreme high temperature conditions, optional fuel cooling. The ECU3 system is suitable for use in harsh environments and has a long service life.
Development of Liebherr high pressure common rail fuel injection system
At the beginning of 2013, Liebherr's first self-developed high-pressure common rail fuel injection system was introduced, mass-produced and successfully used in its own engine. The emission standards are in accordance with IIIB and Tier.
4i. Since then, the range of injection systems has been based on Stage IV and Tier
The requirements of 4f are further developed and developed. By mid-2014, the Liebherr common rail system took an important step in the market, namely for a single cylinder displacement of 6 liters, up to 240
The 11.5 system of kW/cylinder power was unveiled. 11.2 The system continues to be used in Liebherr engines, while the 11.5 system is primarily designed and developed for Liebherr's external customers. The 11.5 system is scheduled to be put into mass production in early 2017.
