In the face of more and more product backlogs, Wu Baoen is in a hurry. Through numerous experiments, he concluded that the main difficulty in solar salt production was to control the size, uniformity, hardness, and appearance of the particles. In the operation he found that the crystallization speed and crystallization time of the brine are the main factors constraining the crystal particles. With many years of work experience, he proposed a bold idea - mixing the light halogen in the old brine to control the crystallization speed.

Saying it was dry, Wu Baoen led the workers to trim two 40-square-meter test pools on the ground. The test was performed on a scale and a few buckets. Together with two halogen-makers, he picked up brines from the regulating tank 1 km away and poured them into two crystallizing tanks in different proportions. In order to grasp the crystallization situation, he must observe once every two hours, and record and measure the depth, temperature, and concentration of brine in detail, test the ratio of sodium to magnesium, observe the salt crystals and weather changes in the sun, and stay up all night.

After two months and more than 200 repeated observations and tests, Wu Baoen finally mastered the best parameters in the process of blending halogen, and exchanged different brine concentrations with different temperatures, wind power, and different evaporation rates, as well as irrigation. Pool brine depth and irrigation time were summarized. He summed up the "solar salt production with halogen method" to crack the technical problems affecting the sun salt quality. When the South Korean businessman came to 37 groups again, it was astounded by the high-quality sun salt. He took the thumbs-up and said: I have been acting for so many years and have never seen such good sun salt.

Stable product quality and good reputation brings better economic benefits. In the past three years, Wu Baoen's team has produced a total of more than 10,000 tons of sun salt, with an excellent grade rate of over 96%, and earned more than US$300,000 in foreign exchange through exports.
