In recent years, relying on the cost-effective advantages of domestically produced vehicles, Chinese autos have been continuously transported to Central Asian countries through Xinjiang ports. However, due to the restrictions on international trade technology and the continued appreciation of the RMB, the number of domestically produced vehicles “going west†has shown a downward trend this year.
    According to statistics from Urumqi Customs , from January to August this year , 14154 vehicles were exported from Xinjiang Port , down 12.1% from the same period of last year . The trade volume was 550 million US dollars , down 16% . Among them , 1579 vehicles were exported in August , down 40.7% year-on-year . The chain fell by 39.8% .
    Although domestic auto exports showed a downward trend , trucks are still the main vehicle of “going west. †From January to August , Xinjiang’s port exports 10,808 trucks , a decrease of 19.1%, accounting for 76.4% of the total export volume of Xinjiang ports , and the average export price. to $ 30,000 per vehicle, down 14.4%.
    The export volume of private enterprises in automobile exports accounted for half of the total , and the export of state-owned enterprises declined slightly. From January to August , private enterprises exported 8,289 vehicles , down 17%, accounting for 58.6% of the total exports of Xinjiang ports ; state-owned enterprises exported 4,949 vehicles . It fell by 2.4%, accounting for 35% of total exports ; foreign-invested enterprises exported 869 vehicles , a decrease of 12.8%, accounting for 6.1% of total exports.
    Kazakhstan continued to maintain the largest export market for domestically produced vehicles in the “ West Exit †. From January to August , Xinjiang Port exported 8,465 vehicles to Kazakhstan , an increase of 5.8%, accounting for 59.8% of the total exports of Xinjiang ports. The Xinjiang port exported 1,315 vehicles, 906 vehicles and 1,101 vehicles to Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Russia , respectively, down 17.7% , 32.5% and 63.1% .
In 2012 , Xinjiang Port exported 25,000 vehicles , an increase of 49% over the previous year . The trade volume reached 980 million US dollars , an increase of 44.5% over the previous year . Kazakhstan continued to maintain its position as the first market for automobile exports in Xinjiang.
