"Development of 5kA DC High Current Calibration Device" Passed Acceptance and Acceptance

[China Instrument Network Instrument R&D] On January 8, 2018, the AQSIQ scientific and technological plan project “Development of a 5kA DC High Current Calibration Device” undertaken by Shanghai Metrology Institute passed the acceptance of experts.

DC current measurement is an important part of electromagnetic measurement and is a key parameter in Appendix C of the calibration and measurement capabilities of the International Bureau of Measurement. The research and establishment of high-accuracy DC large-current calibration devices is an important technical foundation for satisfying industry and scientific research on the traceability of DC large currents.
Based on the systematic study of DC large current measurement theory and calibration technology, the project team designed and developed a 5kA DC large current calibration device with a measurement range of 1A/1A to 5000A/5A. The uncertainty of the measurement result is 7.8E. -8 to 1.8E-6 (k=2). The calibration device has the characteristics of small uncertainty, high stability and strong anti-interference ability, which can meet the requirements of laboratory and on-site calibration.
In one and a half years, the project team completed one technical summary report, published two papers, filed one invention patent, and was invited to give an oral report at an international conference. The research results have generally reached the international advanced level. After the calibration device is established, it can provide technical support for DC high voltage power transmission, new energy development, energy conservation and emission reduction.
