Currently, De Nora's Ballast Water Treatment System (BWTS) is undergoing land-based and marine testing to meet US Coast Guard ballast water management requirements.
The BALPURE system was tested at the NSF Independent Laboratory at the Baltimore Marine Environmental Resource Center in the United States. Lawrence Quinn, CEO of De Nora Water Technologies, said that these tests will ensure that we have taken another step towards the full approval of the classification society, IMO and the US Coast Guard in 2017.
It is reported that the company's system has received the IMO type approval and the type approval of Lloyd's Register of Shipping, American Bureau of Shipping and French Classification Society. The BALPURE system has been selected for 48 new LNG and oil tankers, as well as seven modified vessels, and has installed thousands of seawater electrolysis antifouling systems worldwide, including LNG terminals and coastal power systems.
