The research on the germination rate of sugar beet seeds adopts fine sand and is disinfected at high temperatures. The germination paper used is a sugar beet sprouting paper with special characteristics. The germination box uses intelligent light incubator and the temperature is controlled at 20-25°C. For each test variety 400 seeds were taken from the sample after the analysis of the seed clarity, and 4 replicates. The selected seeds are processed and mixed. Using a plastic seed germination box, sow the seeds evenly on a smooth layer of wet sand, cover with a layer of sand, and pour the water thoroughly. When using germination paper, put two seeds in each pleat with uniform spacing. The position of the seeds between the adjacent folds should be staggered. Use a quantitative sprayer to spray 25-30nil of distilled water evenly on the germinating medicine and cover the lid tightly. When using the filter paper, each seed should be evenly placed with a certain distance, and the water spray should be appropriate. To check the conditions of temperature and humidity, spray water properly, observe the buds on the 4th day, grow into seedlings 14 days, calculate the seed germination rate according to the test results.
The average germination rate of sand bed seeds was 78%, and 76% of germination paper beds were 5% and 3% higher than 73% of filter paper. In 1998, the average seed germination rate of sand beds was 79%, and the germination paper bed was 77% higher than the 75% of filter paper by 4% and 2% respectively. The difference between the sand bed and the sprouting paper bed is a difference of 2% in the two-year test results. Experiments have shown that sand beds and germination paper beds are more suitable for beet seed germination tests than filter paper beds.
The analysis of the cultivation results of the intelligent light incubator showed that the sand bed as a beet seed test has a high germination rate and accurately reflects the germination ability of the seed, because the sand bed germinates relatively close to the soil, the seeds absorb water evenly, the moisturizing is good, and the permeability is also very good. Satisfying the conditions required for the germination of sugar beet seeds is a relatively accurate approach to agricultural production. Germination paper bed sprouting method is currently used for many years, is also a more accurate method, but relative to the sand bed, germination paper costs are high, there is no economic and simple sand bed. The sugar beet seed is a multi-embryonic seed. One bulb can produce 1 to 3 buds. It is more accurate to use seed paper to observe the seedlings, and the sand bed is slightly worse, but as long as the sand bed seeds are evenly spaced, the filter paper is acceptable. Bed sprouting is not easy to distinguish seedlings, and sometimes it is difficult to identify the seedlings after they are detached from the bulbs. The accuracy is poor, and it is not appropriate to adopt a filter paper bed germination method.
