Clariant, a global leader in specialty chemical products, announced that it has acquired 96.15% of the company's shares from Southern Chemical's family shareholders and One Equity Part's Ners.
Clariant will publicly raise shares to the public to acquire the issued shares held by Southern Chemicals shareholders. It is expected that the entire transaction volume will be as high as nearly 1.9 billion euros (approximately 2.5 billion Swiss francs).

Following our successful reorganization in 2010, the acquisition of Southern Chemicals further accelerated our strategy to achieve profitable growth.†Clariant’s CEO Hariolf Kottmann said. "Now, we and Southern Chemicals will start the integration process so that Southern Chemicals can successfully integrate into Clariant's family," added Kottmann.
