The “Guidelines for the Implementation of Liquefied Natural Gas Carriers as Floating Storage Devices” formulated by China Classification Society (CCS) successfully passed the maritime management agencies, shipping companies, energy companies, design units, research institutes, shipyards, equipment manufacturers and other units. The review of more than 30 experts and representatives will be officially released in July. At that time, the guide will become the world's first LNG carrier as a floating storage unit (FSU) implementation guide (hereinafter referred to as LNG-FSU guide).

The LNG-FSU guidelines mainly include technical requirements for additional mark granting, adaptive condition assessment, connection systems, communication systems, emergency systems, mooring systems, compatibility assessments, cargo safety operations and risk assessments.

From the perspective of safety, reliability, achievability and operability of technical requirements, the first LNG carrier "Ocean Oil 301" wheel based on China's own design and construction is an example study of FSU operations in Indonesia, CCS for LNG transportation.
