wedish commercial vehicle manufacturer Scania has received an order from Austrian haulier Nothegger Transport to deliver 220 trucks with biodiesel engines.
The trucks will be in compliance with Euro 6 requirements and will be for 100% biodiesel operation. Scania cab pumps Nothegger's order includes 2-axle tractors and 3-axle rigid trucks for long-haulage.
The company has also signed a Scania repair and maintenance contract for all of the 220 vehicles ordered.
Scania trucks senior vice president Christopher Podgorski said: "Scania has invested more than any other manufacturer in being able to offer both breadth and depth in its range of Euro 6 engines. This is clear evidence that we have correctly assessed customers' needs."
Besides this, the Austrian transport company also signed a Scania repair and maintenance contract for all the 220 vehicles.
Scania Österreich managing director Christian Teichmann said: "We are honoured to know that automotive engineering, distribution efficiency and quality of service at Scania were the decisive factors for Nothegger in this deal."
