Battery use

First, the impact of the use of temperature:

(1) Relationship between capacity and temperature: As the ambient temperature increases, the capacity of the battery increases within a certain range. Too low a temperature will cause sulphation of the negative electrode. If the temperature is too high, the corrosion of the battery grid and the loss of battery moisture will be accelerated.

(2) Relationship between float charge voltage and temperature: The formula for calculating the float charge voltage at different temperatures is VT=(2.2~2.27)-(T-25)×0.03. When the float voltage is too high, the float charge flow will increase, the corrosion speed of the grid will be accelerated, and the battery life will be reduced. The float charge voltage is too low, the battery can not maintain the state of charge, causing sulfation, reducing the capacity, and reducing the battery life. .

(3) The relationship between the average charging pressure and temperature: The formula for calculating the average charging pressure at different temperatures is VT=(2.30~2.35)-(T-25)×0.05. The average charging voltage needs to be adjusted with the ambient temperature. The specific charging voltage is subject to the manufacturer.

(4) Relationship between life and temperature: T25=T design × 2 (T actual -25)/10. An increase in temperature can damage the battery and reduce the life of the battery.

Second, the charge and discharge system of the valve control battery

(1) Constant current limiting voltage charging

Constant current charging is performed by using I10 current. When the voltage of the battery pack terminal rises to (2.30~2.35V) × N voltage limit value, it is automatically or manually switched to constant voltage charging.

(2) Constant voltage charging

Under the constant voltage charging of (2.30~2.35V)×N, the charging current of I10~2I10 gradually decreases. When the charging current decreases to 0.1 I10 current, the countdown of the charging device starts, and when the set countdown ends, the charging is completed. The device will be automatically or manually converted to a normal floating charge operation float, and the voltage value should be controlled to (2.23 to 2.28V) × N.

(3) supplementary charging

In order to make up for the under-charging due to improper adjustment of the floating charge current during operation, the battery capacity loss caused by self-discharge and creepage leakage of the valve-controlled battery cannot be compensated. According to the need to set the time (usually 3 months), the charging device will automatically or manually perform a constant current limiting voltage charging constant voltage charging floating charging process. Make the battery pack full capacity at any time to ensure safe and reliable operation.

Third, the check discharge of the valve control battery

Long-term use of limited-pressure current-limiting floating-charge operation mode or only limited-pressure operation mode, it is impossible to judge the existing capacity of the valve-controlled battery, whether the internal water loss or cracking, only through the verification discharge, can find the existence of the battery The problem.

(1) A set of valve-controlled batteries

When the system has only one set of batteries, it can't be out of operation, and it can't be fully verified discharge. It can only release 50% of the rated capacity. During the discharge process, the voltage of the battery pack terminal should not be lower than 2V×N. Immediately after discharge, I10~2I10 current should be used for constant current limiting voltage charging and constant voltage charging floating charging. Repeatedly charging 2 or 3 times, the battery pack capacity can be restored. Defects in the battery can be identified and handled. If there is a spare valve-controlled battery pack for temporary replacement, the group of valve-controlled batteries can be used for full-scale discharge.

(2) Two groups of valve-controlled batteries

When the system has two sets of valve-controlled batteries, a set of valve-controlled battery packs can be fully verified for discharge. With I10 current constant current discharge, when the battery terminal voltage drops to 1.8V × N, the discharge is stopped. After 1~2 h, the constant current limiting voltage charging and constant voltage charging floating charging are performed with I10~2I10 current. Repeatedly charging 2 or 3 times, the problem of the battery can be detected, and the capacity can be restored. If after 3 times of full-rechargeable charging, the battery pack capacity will not reach 80% of the rated capacity. It can be considered that the service life of this group of valve-controlled batteries has been scheduled to be replaced.

(3) Valve controlled battery check discharge cycle

For a newly installed or overhauled valve-controlled battery pack, a full-scale discharge test shall be performed. A check test will be conducted every 2 to 3 years thereafter. A valve-controlled battery that has been in operation for 6 years should be tested once a year for a verification discharge test.
