Flotation separation under conventional process conditions is very difficult.

Although many companies are currently mining, they cannot be separated and lose money. Some companies also discard barite. Using only fluorite, a large amount of barite can only be discarded from tailings in vain. This is not only a great waste of national resources, but also a great economic loss to the production enterprises.

Therefore, the key to comprehensive utilization of such ore resources is to effectively solve the flotation separation of fluorite and barite. Not only must there be an extraordinary separation flotation process. And there must be a whole set of flotation reagent formulations.

In recent years, many research institutes and mineral processing scholars have been working hard to develop new processes, new barite and fluorite inhibitors. But mostly in theory, there are very few practical applications that can be used in production.

From October of 2006, the author began a relatively detailed study on the mineralization, mineralization and ore properties of such deposits. Many fluorite deposits were examined in Zhejiang, Anhui, Jiangxi, Fujian and other places many years ago. China's fluorite deposits can be roughly divided into three categories:

1. Quartz fluorite deposit.

The deposit is a deposit formed by the condensation of ore-bearing hydrothermal fluid along the fractures of the formation to the siliceous rocks. In the filling and cracking of the stone with its associated mineral cement, the ore is massive, breccia or crystalline.

Third, polymetallic fluorite deposit

The major mineral fluorite type deposits often with a metal galena, sphalerite, chalcopyrite, pyrite, and tungsten, tin, molybdenum, bismuth and other symbiotic (e.g., lead-zinc liujiaping Hunan Lin mining pick, etc.). The fluorite in the ore is generally coarse-grained, with a grain size of 20-30L and a maximum of 75L. The fluorite content is generally around 14-16%.

Since July 2007, the author has carried out thousands of flotation separation experiments on the barite-fluorite mine in the region, designed more than ten sets of processes, and used more than 40 reagents with more than 400 formulas. Finally, in April 2008 (the barite concentrate grade has reached 95% in September 2008), a successful set of scientific and reasonable design can effectively separate the flotation process of barite-fluorite ore. The process is to preferentially float barite, and the floating heavy tailings pass through the process of activation and then floating fluorite. The process can not only float the ore of fluorite higher than barite, but also separate the ore from barite above fluorite. If the fluorite grade is above 40% or the fluorite is higher than barite, the fluorite concentrate grade can reach over 97%. The barite can still reach more than 95%.

Since the "mixed flotation" is in the industrial debugging, the process of "mixing and floating fluorite, barite" and then separating is compared with the "preferred" process, by comparing "preferred" to "mixing" The selection process should be more scientific and reasonable, the concentrate grade is more stable, and the recovery rate is higher.

Here are two specific comparisons of the two process flows:

1. “Mixed” flotation Since the mixed grade of fluorite and barite is as high as 90% or more, the amount of ball milling can only be controlled at 5-6T per hour. If you go up to the 5A flotation tank, it will appear to have a small capacity, and it is easy to run the trough. The ore loss is very large. The "preferred" flotation can reach 9-10T per hour, which greatly reduces the cost of beneficiation.

2. Although “mixed-selection” is separated by more than eight times, the grade of fluorite concentrate can reach 92%-95%. However, barite can only reach 85% after re-flotation. It is less than 95% at all. The "preferred" process can float the barite grade above 95%, the whiteness to over 92%, and both SiO2 and CaCO3 below 1%.

The “mixed-selection” process has a recovery rate of less than 80%, while the “preferred” process recovery rate can reach more than 85%.

3, "mixed-selection" process of the use of large amounts of chemicals, especially barite inhibitors, because the barite grade of the ore is 20 degrees higher than fluorite, the amount is larger, the purchase price is expensive, so the cost of the drug is very high, Although the "preferred" process has many types of chemicals, it is used in a small amount and at a low price, and the cost is only about 40% of the "mixed-selection" process. 4. Due to the low grade of ore in the debugging of Guizhou Huangxin Company, the fluorite content is 30% or so, containing more than 50% barite, and containing 7%-15% of calcium carbonate. This adds to the difficulty of "mixing". In the process of debugging. After seven times of separation of fluorite concentrate grade can only reach 85%, because calcium carbonate is too high, and the "preferred" process refinement, the fluorite quality is above 95%, silicon and calcium carbonate can be below 1%.

After "mixed-selection" commissioning and "preferred" process test comparison of graded overflow slurry, the problems that "mixed-selection" cannot be solved in industrial commissioning are solved in the "preferred" process.

Therefore, the process of flotation of fluorite after the barite is preferentially floated is more scientific, more reasonable, and more in line with actual production requirements than the "mixed-selection" process.
